Paintings

I paint impressions of landscape, noticing the human influences of fields, trees and boundaries. 

Often from above, looking at shapes, textures and patterns, mixing colours to create a sense of these places - drawn from a connection to the past.

Roman roads, tracks from the air, furrows and ancient civilisations are expressed as layered pattern. The paintings are about lines, shadows and traces of quiet footprints, through gates to a feeling of space...
