I paint impressions of landscape, past people and their uses of fields, trees and boundaries.

Mostly from the air, looking at shapes, textures and patterns, mixing colours which evoke a sense of these places - drawn from my childhood history lessons and ancient border maps of Wessex and Stonehenge 

Picnics on the stones giving a connection to the past, along Roman roads, tracks from the air, burrows and ancient civilisations are expressed as layered pattern. It is about lines, shapes, traces and footprints, tracks, gates and through spaces...
